Looking for inspiration for your wedding? Almost four months later Michael Young and Nayte OlukoyaThe engagement of have been broadcast, the duo have already started thinking about their dream nuptials.
“Nayte and I, we know so many different people and we have such big families and that’s a big part of [our planning process]said the 28-year-old Minnesota native exclusively. We Weekly while attending the Sherri Hill NYFW Bridal and Evening Fashion Show on Friday, April 8. are completely clear of that, so it’s not even a stressor for us, and then, [we want to have] warm weather [on our wedding day].”
Young and the Canada native, 27, got engaged in the December 2021 finale of the bachelorette season 18. While the couple balanced their new normal as an engaged couple, they also dealt with a long-distance relationship. (Young lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota, while her beau is based in Austin, Texas.)
“When we’re together, we just spend time together like non-stop so it’s nice,” Olukoya told We Friday when he and Young attended the fashion show in support of Hannah Godwinwho walked in the show.
The fifth-grade teacher, for her part, added: “If we’re not hanging out, we’re texting [or] Face Timing. We do a lot of movie nights like on FaceTime or Zoom. We made it work. But, he’s been in Minnesota for a little while now, so it’s been good.
Young, who previously appeared in season 25 of The single person before becoming the franchise’s lead, noted that the couple mostly spends time together traveling — whether it’s New York for a fashion show or Mexico for a romantic retreat.
“It was amazing. It was really weird at the beginning because we kind of went back to those feelings that we had when we were on the show, you know, showing anxiety,” the graduate said. ‘Bradley University. We from their vacation last month, at the same hotel where they celebrated their engagement after filming. “But once we got over that, we really had a lot of fun. I have a feeling we’re going to make this our annual vacation spot.
While the pair are still learning about each other’s quirks – like Olukoya’s “therapeutic” love of doing laundry – and pet peeves, their loved ones are also getting to know each other.
“Our dogs are getting used to each other. It took them a minute to get used to [each other]“, added Young.”[My dog] The chef was not a fan of [his pup] Percy. Percy has a little too much energy I would say. But now they get used [to each other] – now they bond, cuddle and play with each other, so it’s fun to watch.
Young and the sales manager had a strong pull early on in the ABC series, when he got the coveted first impression.
“Nayte was always almost, like, one of the strongest bonds, if not the strongest bond,” she previously said.
