Simon Cowell has sunk into depression after his horrific e-bike accident.
The 62-year-old music mogul broke his back after falling off the bike and was left in bed for a month following the 2020 incident. He has now revealed he is considering seeking therapy as his injuries meant he feared he would no longer be able to walk or spend quality time with his eight-year-old son Eric.
Simon, who is engaged to girlfriend Lauren Silverman, told The Sun newspaper: “I first considered therapy when I broke my back because I was very, very, very low.
“I felt very depressed because I didn’t know how to explain it to Eric.
“I couldn’t do everything I wanted with him. I didn’t know if I was going to be able to walk again, play football with him.
“It was a low point. I was taking a lot of painkillers but I stopped them very quickly. I didn’t want to go down that road.”
Simon admits that the care of the doctors and the support of his family helped him to overcome this frightening accident.
The former ‘X Factor’ judge explained: “But in the end I decided not to go to therapy because I had great doctors, Lauren was amazing and Eric was amazing.
“I always wear a back brace that I have to wear when I go out on my bike, and there are big screws in my back, and that’s for life.
“But I’m here, I’m alive. And I’m grateful.”
Simon also revealed he’s stopped having Botox on his face and says he’s now eating a healthy diet to stave off the signs of aging.
He said: “There was a stage where I may have gone a bit too far. I saw a ‘before’ picture of me the other day and didn’t recognize it as being me.
“Eric was hysterical. Enough was enough. There’s no filler on my face at all now. Zero.
“There was a phase where everyone had their faces filled with this and the other.
“But actually, for me now, a lot of that comes down to eating healthy and drinking tons of water.”
