Suncoast Charities for Children announced the distribution of $ 123,423 to support children, adolescents and adults with special needs in the community of Sarasota.
The largest distribution was $ 85,000 to the Suncoast Foundation in support of repairs and improvements needed for Children First (Venice Campus) and the Florida Center for Early Childhood (Sarasota and North Port Campus).
Additional donations totaling $ 38,423 were also allocated to The Haven, Florida Center for Early Childhood, Loveland Center, Sarasota County Special Olympics and Children First to support various programs and services provided by these agencies. . Supported program and service areas include children fighting hunger, health and wellness programs for people with physical and mental disabilities, equipment for distance classroom learning, tools early education for children with intense behavioral needs, hygiene kits and classroom shoes for preschoolers, neuro intervention services and theater / music / cooking program supplies for the physically disabled and mental.
Suncoast Charities for Children hosts the annual Thunder By The Bay Music and Motorcycle Festival and the Suncoast Summer Fest. The net income generated by the two Festivals, in addition to a few more modest events organized during the 2020-2021 fiscal year, made these donations possible.
