All of our Aspen and Roaring Fork Valley nonprofits may need a little help at any time of the year. But if you’re looking for something outside of the holiday box, check out what some of them said when we asked, “What’s on your wishlist this year?” “

Lucky Day Animal Rescue is a 501c3 non-profit organization whose mission is to save animal lives and enrich people’s lives. We are always looking for foster homes and financial support for monitoring. Thank you and have a good vacation! http://www.luckydayrescue.org

Scouts, a local nonprofit organization offering counseling and support for critical illness, bereavement and loss, is asking for donations to provide counseling to those in need or for grocery (or other) gift cards. ) to provide to our families in financial need. The Matchmaking program has a HIGH need for more mentors in Aspen, Basalt and Carbondale. There are over 30 kids on our current waiting list, and they’re all SO excited to have a Big Buddy! http://www.buddyprogram.org

Aspen Friends Animal Shelter I would love for you to visit the Aspen Animal Shelter and spend some quality time with the homeless animals. The refuge is open every day of the year from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. http://www.aspenanimalshelter.com

Aspen Historical Society is looking for snowboards for the AHS archives, including these specific models to complete our collection: the K2 Eco Pop women’s snowboard, the K2 Mix Girl’s Lichtenstein Graphic women’s snowboard, the Burton Cruise or Cruzer snowboards and the Sims Extreme Outer Limits snowboard. The Bright Star Foundation HOPE offer for the holidays! Help us by donating new unwrapped gifts or toys, or a cash donation, to http://www.ShiningStarsFoundation.org!

Challenge America seeks to cover the cost of shipping 40 guitars decorated by local artists to participants in our music therapy programs serving veterans with PTSD. Aspen Chapel is looking for warm socks, scarves, hats, gloves, chocolate or money to buy to support the homeless who stay in our overnight shelter during the winter. Send an email to [email protected]. (The chapel also needs housing for its chaplain and family.)

Habitat for Humanity of the Roaring Fork Valley is looking for community volunteers who would be interested in building alongside our home buyers and Habitat’s professional construction team. This is a great team building experience for businesses, clubs, organizations, and families. WindWalkers Horse Assisted Learning and Therapy Center wishes to “keep the buttocks (children and adults) in the saddle and the food bags full”. Our holiday wish list includes supplements, cereals, manure forks, wheelbarrows, sensory play, upholstery, reins, helmets and fences; therefore, contributions of all sizes are welcome to WindWalkers.org.

Roaring Fork Direction (RFL) strengthens community by developing leaders and increasing civic capacity so that we can impact and effectively solve our social issues and create a thriving and healthy community. RFL’s wish is to provide our programming to everyone, regardless of their financial capacity, thus requesting scholarship contributions totaling $ 12,000. rfleadership.org

Bridging Bionics FoundationThe wishlist includes a used or new treadmill, Pilates reformer, and Pilates Split Pedal low chair. Our physiotherapists and clients would be very grateful for these items to help us continue to give the gift of mobility.

Sacred cycle helps survivors of sexual assault and abuse heal through mountain biking and community engagement. Your donation will help fund evidence-based therapy for our 2022 clients. As your local aviation conservation group, Eco Flight provides your “eyes in the sky” to educate Roaring Fork Valley students, community leaders and the media on landscape, water and climate issues, and to provide immediate documentation on environmental emergencies.
